I experienced her as an amalgamation of parts: tubular, velvety snout; curved claws as large as gardening tools; fanned bustle of a tail, coarse as a broomstraw; stunning swatch of black fur, trimmed in white, that rand down her flank like a racing stripe” explains Goldfarb upon the discovery of Evelyn, an anteater, being studied for conservation.
