CoHabit > Drawings for glass Etchings

My artwork uses the content of fables and folklore with a wide range of materials to illustrate what connects(or disconnects) contemporary culture from age-old ideals.
Most recently, I have been working on graphite drawings of woodland animals ensnared in
artificial detritus. In tales, animals frequently are relied upon as companions, informants, or catalysts for change. My renditions (drawings) show an unfortunate tale of consequence. The animal cannot perform its required task because it is mired in trash. The work explores borderlines, including those between natural and synthetic, fiction and fact, and freedom and captivity. I would like to push the work further by shifting the material from paper to glass. The glass adds an ethereal and fragile quality to the content of the work. I prefer to exhibit these as glass wall hangings.
